If It Doesn’t Feel Good, Change It

Some of the best professional advice I ever got actually came in a crisis moment, as I was desperately trying to figure out how to salvage an unworkable situation. “If you don’t like what you’re doing, then do something else. And if that doesn’t work, do something else again,” a friend told me. “Just because this is what you’ve BEEN doing doesn’t mean this is what you have to KEEP doing.”

Those words gave me the permission I didn’t even know I’d needed to make a change that was a long time coming. So if that’s you’re looking for, I’m here to tell you: PERMISSION GRANTED! Don’t stay in an unhappy situation, especially when you’ve got the power to change. Create a playbook that outlines the way out. You are not stuck!
